During Hurricane Irma, a tree fell through the Hunsberger's home causing damage to their roof, master bathroom, and bedroom.

One of the worst situations homeowners in the Lakeland/Plant City area, along with areas of Central Florida, can find themselves in is being on the wrong side of a hurricane. Damaging winds, rain, and flooding can lead to major structural damage to your home. For the Hunsberger Family, a tree became their worst nightmare when it plunged through their roof during Hurricane Irma, causing damage to the roof, master bathroom, and bedroom below.

With True Builders just a phone call away, these homeowners were able to get in touch quickly to have the damages assessed and get their home repairs underway!

Debris Cleanup, Mitigation, Structural Rebuilding, and Master Bedroom Renovations

Prior to any renovations, our team worked hard to clean up the debris left behind by Irma. The tree created a gaping hole that went straight through the roof and into the master bedroom below.

Cleanup and mitigation services should always happen immediately to prevent further damage from occurring

Roof damage from fallen tree during Hurricane Irma.

We put a crew on the scene immediately after the dangerous debris was cleared and commenced renovations by repairing the roof, including any broken beams. We installed new insulation that was damaged or lost during the incident as well.

Aside from the exterior roof damage, there was also significant structural damage to the interior ceiling and walls. We installed new drywall to replace all the damaged sections.

We worked with the Hunsbergers to come up with a beautiful and clean design for their new bedroom and bathroom. The final design called for the installation of new hardwood flooring and light fixtures.

An Updated Master Bathroom with Natural Stone & Ceramic Tiles

Completed bathroom remodel project after damage from Hurricane Irma in Lakeland, FL.

The master bathroom was the crown jewel of the project! During a hurricane restoration, it can be hard to see the silver lining in so much damage. For the Hunsberger Family, we took the time to renovate the bathroom in a way that gave them an updated and sophisticated look for their home.

We installed brand new marble tile throughout the entire space. We kept a neutral, grey theme by adding beautiful, natural stone mosaic flooring in the shower. Complementing the stone tile are neutral grey ceramic tiles.

We opened the space up and gave them a large L-shaped, single-sink vanity with plenty of storage space. The countertop on the vanity complements the rest of the space and allows the new cherry cabinets to pop.

To finish off the master bathroom, we included brand new fixtures in the shower and sink, as well as a new toilet.
