Recently, we were contacted to help out with a remodel at a local house in Winter Haven. They wanted to do a bit of an overhaul to get the home updated and looking great, so we sat down, assessed their needs, and figured out the best ways to help them. Here are some of the improvements we did to this home!
Adding a New Roof Helps Increase Home Value
One of the tasks on our list was to add on a new roof to this home. A new roof can help increase home value and make it easier to resell. According to a 2017 report, 32 percent of real estate agents said that new roofing helped them sell the home. When it comes to roofing, it’s important to choose a contractor with lots of experience. Putting new roofing material down incorrectly can lead to many issues down the road.
We chose a quality grey shingle for the new roof at this project and we know the owners will be very satisfied with this installation.
Increasing Curb Appeal with New Landscaping & Fence Repair
When we arrived on the property, we saw the fencing was also in need of some repairs. We addressed that issue and also installed some new landscaping with plants that are supposed to grow well in the central Florida climate.
The landscaping was finished off with some chocolate shredded hardwood mulch for both aesthetics and to keep the soil insulated and protected. This helped to increase the home’s overall curb appeal.
Removal of Garage Wall, Cleaning up the Garage
In the garage, we removed an extra wall to create some more space in what is now a large 2-car garage to give the owner more room for cars or storage. We also cleaned up the garage and got rid of anything that needed to be cleared out.
Adding New Paint & Installing New Flooring
We went through and added new paint to the rest of the home to give it a fresh, clean look. The flooring was also installed by our crews. We went with dark wood flooring throughout most of the home and tile in other rooms. In our area of central Florida, it’s important to have elements of the home that encourage cooling. Both tile and wood offer that option and are also easy to clean.
